where i talk about all things machine learning and AI related with a very specific focus on how you guys can learn machine learning recently apple held its annual wwdc event where i talked about a bunch of new things which were coming to its products and one of the things that we saw which was referred to quite a bit was machine learning and that would not come as a surprise to many but one thing which was very different was that apple was referring to machine learning as intelligence we use on-device intelligence based even intelligently suggests using it also uses intelligence so it was not using the word machine learning but it was using the word intelligence instead now this might seem as not a big deal to quite a lot of people but honestly to me i think this is a huge thing and this is a very subtle change in which the industry is moving towards so the fact that apple is using the word intelligence instead of machine learning is definitely a big thing and in today's blog i want to talk about why apple is doing that why it's using the word intelligence instead of machine learning and what does intelligence mean in the sense of which apple is talking about there are numerous reasons why apple chooses to use the word intelligence over machine learning but I think one of the biggest reasons is obviously that apple always tries to stand out in whatever it does it always tries to make anything that it uses its own it tries to put its own spin on things so maybe apple is trying to trademark the way that machine learning is going to be used so that's a very possible legitimate reason another reason could be that the word intelligence definitely has a more significant meaning than the word machine learning for the average person so when an average person hears the word machine learning they might not really understand but the word intelligence is really easy to understand and definitely carries the meaning of machine learning i personally think the major reason why apple uses the word intelligence over machine learning is that it is trying to trademark the way that machine learning is going to be used in mobiles and applications and basically the whole arena in which apple functions I honestly believe that it's trying to trademark the way that machine learning is going to be used so that is the reason why it has come up with its own term to use and it's referring to machine learning as intelligence let's take a quick look at how apple is planning on using intelligence in its products not only does ios give you space to focus it also uses intelligence..
