Samsung Z Series
Unless you've been living in a cave, you know more than
Samsung's replacement plan for the Galaxy Note with the Galaxy Z Fold. While
the Note series does not sell as many units as the original, the Galaxy S
series, the Notes system is undoubtedly enjoying a huge fan base of any
smartphone system out there. Now you may be wondering if that is so, why are
they planning to end it? Yes, there are a few reasons, especially they find it
difficult to distinguish between the Galaxy S and Note system because the
smartphone technology on common phones is sophisticated. The changes you will
see every year are small and as a result, people do not update their phones as
often as before. So sales are declining. So how does Samsung deal with this
situation? Yes, by changing their focus on folding. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is
undoubtedly the most versatile phone ever released and for the first time, the
folding smartphone doesn’t feel like a beta product. If you remember, a few
months ago there was a report quoting inside Samsung that if the sale of the
Galaxy Z Fold 3 is good enough then they will plan to roll out the Galaxy Note
system completely. Yes, today we have details of the previous purchase of
Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 from Samsung itself and the phones are not only
selling well but breaking records. And not only do they break the sales records
in a rolling line but they also sell their big flags the Galaxy S21 and Note 20
lineup. Hearing that well, Samsung released a statement and I quote, “The
interest in folding smartphones is in full swing, with the pre-order volume of
Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 already surpassing the total sales of Galaxy Z devices by
2021. ”Now Samsung does not disclose exact sales figures but we do know that
Samsung has sold approximately 2 million units combined into the Z Fold 2 and Z
Flip models according to various research firms. So this means that the
previous orders for Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 are already over 2 million which is
almost part of what Samsung intends to sell its new folders this year combined.
And if you are looking for specific numbers, In South Korea, Samsung has
acquired more than 800000.
Previous orders for Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 in just one week
are twice that of the Galaxy S21 and 1.5 times more than those of the Galaxy
Note 20. Series on the other hand received only 80000 pre-orders in South
Korea. So looking at these numbers is finally safe to say that Samsung folders
are now standard products. Now, what does this mean for the Galaxy Note 22 and
the future of the note list? Yes, Samsung chief executive DJ Koh has already
told their investors at a closed meeting that they plan to launch the Galaxy
Note in 2022 which is a kind of relief because it does not guarantee the launch
of the Galaxy Note 22 as it did not officially say but at least hope to launch
it. But now after seeing the sales of the previous roll order, I’m sure Samsung
is thinking a second time about launching the Galaxy Note next year. Honestly,
on the other hand, I'm glad the folders are doing well as I said in the past
that they are the future of smartphones. But as a Galaxy Note fan, I'm a little
disappointed that the success of the Z Z 3 could mean the end of the Galaxy
Note. Samsung should be aware that although some phones are now starting to get
S Pen functionality, Note is still unique as it is the only Samsung phone out
there with a dedicated Pen slot and has a signature design that is popular with
Noty fans which means both the Z Fold and Notti line can be together . So we
hope the Note continues and see the Galaxy Note 22 Ultra next year. Thanks for read my blog.
